File Extension PART
File extension PART is a file extension that deals with Partial download files. When a program is downloading, the whole file may not be able to download completely because of the failure from the download managers. In this regard, the download managers will save the parts of the file that has been downloaded with this PART file extension but only temporarily, that is only a part of the file.

The actual file is then saved correctly when the download is completed before it is opened. In general, a file extension PART on its own is of little or no use at all. There is the need to wait until the completion of the download so that it can be opened. These download files are associated to a number of applications like transfer programs Go!Zilla and eDonkey. eMule Plus Partial Download from the eMule Team is also an application that is associated with this file extension.

A PART file extension can be opened using the above named programs like the Partial Go!Zilla download which is an unfinished download file from the internet. The Firefox browser also uses this application to store the partial download file, thereafter renaming it into its original name and file type.

The eDonkey is also an application related to file extension PART whereby it is an application that enables a user to download and share files with people all over the world. This software is however, no longer available for downloading and making use of the application is not advised because the manufacturer, MetaMachine was sued for copyright by the RIAA.

The eMule Plus also accesses this information and it is a new generation eMule compatible client which is created for the improvement of the original GUI. To resume a download that is a PART file download with the FlashGet, a user may have to rename the extension to JC.
